The Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin, IL provides the use of 10 Gateway PIII 550Mhz and 10 PII 450Mhz computers to It's patrons.  All you need is a Valid GBPL library card, and you can use one.  We have a T1 connection to out of Elgin, so our speed is quite fast.  We also provide Microsoft Office Products, such as Access, Excel, and Word.  You can type your resume or chat in a ChatRoom @ the Library now.  So if you are an Elgin Resident, and need some help with the Internet, stop by and we'll help you out.  If you are visiting, you may still use the computers for the small price of $5.00 per half hour.  That is nothing compared to the Kinko's Price of $12.00/hr.

We will provide you with 5 pages of black/white prints free per day, above that, you will have to pay $0.10 per page printed.  We cannot see how many pages you are printing, or what it's content is, it is up to you - the patron - to keep track of what you print, because as soon as it goes to that printer, you'll pay!!! Oh yes, you'll pay!!!  :)
The Library now has access to a Color Laser printer.  The charge (as of now) is $0.75 per page, which is less than half the Kinko's price of $1.95 per page.  We are trying to provide a service to people, not to make a profit, and this price should help with the expense of our new 'toy.'
