. # 8 Saturn. Probably the most widely known planet, probably because of its most excellent rings. The other outer planets (Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune) also have rings, but not of Saturn's magnitude. The rings are closing up; that is, based on the orbit of us & the planet relative to the Sun, the rings are slowly "merging". In a short while, a small telescope will not be able to see them.
