WHAT IS CHAIR MASSAGE ?
On-site chair massage is a ten minute massage to the muscles of the
neck, shoulders, arms, hands, and back, performed right in your work
setting. The massage recipient sits comfortably, fully clothed, on a
specially designed portable massage chair. The massage practitioner
eases tension and increases circulation in key muscle groups, using a
combination of massage techniques. On-site massage in the workplace
became popular in California during the 1980s when Apple and other
progressive companies recognized the high toll that working long hours
at computers and other machinestakes on employees backs and necks (and
on their productivity).
ERGONOMICS SEMINARS FOR GROUPS
The old Chinese adage says, "Give a person a fish and they eat
one
meal. Teach a person to fish and they eat for a lifetime."
"Erg" means work and "onomics" means laws.
Ergonomics is the science of human posture, movement, and function, in
relation to the objects with which we interact physically (like at
work).
LightEarth is pleased to offer a seminar in basic ergonomics for
the desk-jockey. This seminar is intended to instruct any office
worker on the most important elements of good posture at the computer,
potential risks, and ways to avoid pain and injury while working.
LightEarth's Ergonomics Seminar is divided into three parts:
Ergonomics, Stretching, and Self-Massage for Common Problems.
The seminar runs about an hour including Q&A, is participatory,
and can be held while participants eat lunch.
Customizing the presentation to each areas needs during the seminar
is important: Typically we begin with Ergonomics, a description of body
parts and where they should be in relation to the equipment. The
second section tells us of the necessity of Stretching, or preparing
the body's muscles to attain the important ergonomic principles of
the first section. Finally, the third section, Self-Massage for Common
Problems, is a troubleshooting guide for aches and pains such
as headache, eyestrain, indigestion, PMS, and other afflictions that
are often unavoidable.
